More than anyone wants to know
• I am 5' 10.625" tall or so
• I weigh a little more than I'd like
• I'm also a little older than I'd like to be but what are ya gonna do?
• We live in La Grange Park, IL - just west of where the Chicago Bears play
After getting my philosophy degree from the University at Buffalo, I did what most philosphy majors do and went into the corrugated industry. Henceforth, I've spent my entire career designing displays in heavenly Cicero, Illinois. I have been married to my lovely wife and best friend Susan since 2002 and we had our twin boys Devin and Jaden in 2007. We like animals too much. We have two German Shepherds, a cat, a bunny and a turtle. We occasionally keep snakes in the yard but that's not by choice as much as surprise. I love football and burritos and tacos and dragons ("Dragons Love Tacos" - a brilliant book I should have made. More on that later)... I love guitar and the piano, movies and lacrosse, golf & bowling and traveling when I can (for vacation only). Mostly though, I just love making things. I am a creator and am at peace the most when I'm making or building something, whether it's art, a book, a house, a display, some furniture, a pizza oven or just a pizza from that pizza oven. Pizza pizza. I love working with my hands and that's probably why I love 3D modeling so much; instant creation & gratification. I loved sculpting the dragons in this book. I'll likely make another book, maybe with an octopus because those things are awesome. Speaking of such creations, here are 3 things I'm forever mad that I didn't make in reverse order;
3. The book, "Dragons Love Tacos" by Adam Rubin & Daniel Salmieri.
Muhc respect and how did I not?
2. Hank the octopus from "Finding Nemo 2." Actually, he's a septopus but whatever, he's PERFECT! Nicely done Disney. You kinda got this stuff figured out, don't you?
1. This won't surprise but....How to Train Your Dragon. It too is perfect and inspiring for nerds like me. It was also a bit beyond my humble capabilities. Well done, Dreamworks. You also seem to have a knack for story-telling and modeling and animation and turning dragons into dogs??... BRILLIANT! Some say cats... I get it. And I know there's a debate. I see dogs a little more but whatever. We often see what we want to see - the double edged sword of human perception but I digress...
There ARE a couple of things I made that no one else could have; my sons. Though I admit that I could not have done that alone. I am so very proud of you both and this book was made for you.
